How does kink counseling differ from therapy?
Kink Counseling is an opportunity to discuss your curiosities, concerns, and questions about consensual BDSM (bondage, discipline, sado-masochism) in a private and confidential setting. It is designed to help individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships develop a positive relationship to their desire, as well as the skills and resources necessary to manifest a healthy expression of this desire in solo and interpersonal play. Kink Counseling is goal-oriented and strategy-focused: My aim is to listen carefully to your current situation and work with you collaboratively on here-and-now solutions to your kink concerns. Kink Counseling is client-centered, scheduled at intervals that suit your needs and schedule, and may be short- or long-term depending on your preferences.
Kink Counseling is not licensed nor governed by any state or national board, and is not intended to diagnose or treat any mental illness as designated by the American Psychiatric Association. Kink Counseling is designed for consultation and educational purposes only, and I am not offering psychiatric, medical, or legal advice or services. If you are seeking medical or psychiatric intervention, referrals to kink aware professionals can be found on the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom website.

Do I have to schedule an appointment every week?
That's entirely up to you. Some people find short term weekly sessions helpful, while others prefer occasional session at monthly intervals. You may also choose Kink Counseling appointments to work on a specific skill set or in anticipation of a significant life event. During your initial appointment, we'll discuss your goals and what sort of session structure will best support you in achieving these.
Do you take insurance?
No, Kink Counseling sessions are not covered by insurance. Payment for sessions may be made at the time of your appointment by cash, or electronically through PayPal or Square. I do not accept personal checks.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes. I protect the privacy of all of my Kink Counseling clients, which means the information you share with me stays between the two of us and is not recorded or shared with anyone unless you request this in writing.
Can you convince my partner to tie me up?
Not really. Kink Counseling is designed to support individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships in better understanding and articulating their desire. While I'm here as a compassionate guide and resource, the work comes from within you. It can be scary and vulnerable to express your fantasies to your partner(s), and I certainly appreciate the wish to have someone else do this for you. But learning how to ask for what you want is a powerful and important skill. Trust me, you want to develop this skill for yourself. It's like that aphorism, give a man a pair of panties, he'll crossdress for a day; but teach a man to ask for his own lingerie...
Can I get undressed during our session?
Kink Counseling appointments are talk only and generally hands off, and provide an opportunity to discuss your kink in a safe, knowledgeable, and nonjudgmental environment. In the course of working together, we may decide that you and your partner(s) would benefit from hands-on skills training, which may require a degree of physical contact or undressing for access. This is entirely up to your comfort level, most skill sets can be taught while wearing form fitting clothing.
While I love ritual play, this is a different sort of work than Kink Counseling appointments. If you are interested in ritual play, including developing your dominant skill set by co-topping with me in a scene, please visit my Mistress Morgana website.

Will you get undressed during our session?
No. I dress in a professional and comfortable manner during Kink Counseling sessions. If you're interested in seeing me in a corset or other fetish wear, kindly visit my Mistress Morgana website and proceed with scheduling a play session.
Is there sex, sensual touch, or sexual release during sessions?
No. Kink Counseling appointments are talk only, and are designed to educate and support you in developing a better understanding and articulation of your kinky desire. If you're looking for hands on somatic work, I recommend seeking out a sexological body worker or sex therapist. Visit my Links page for some referrals.
